# Wooden crash barriers

	
Apart from the traditional [**steel crash barriers**](/our-services/road-security/) there are the **“more modern” wooden crash barriers**. The workmanship of the **wooden crash barriers** complies with the common **EU standard “EN 1317-2 – containment level N2 & H2”** and is a **good alternative** to the standard crash barriers. Due to the **natural wooden appearance**, they fit in well with the rural surroundings (fields, green areas, tourist areas, etc.).

The **wooden crash barriers** have integrated steel profiles, which support the crash barrier and yet are not visible to the onlooker.

It must be mentioned that the **dynamic flexibility** of the **wooden crash barriers** is also ensured in the event of an accident. The impact shock is absorbed and the vehicle is deflected from the barrier in the same way as the traditional steel crash barriers.

The use of the best possible **wood treatment**, still also called **pressure impregnation**, the wood is made weatherproof, thus requiring **no further maintenance / care**. Only woods and types of woods from European forests are used in the production of the **wooden crash barriers** such as e.g. **pine or larch**.

The **wooden crash barriers** are available with post spacings from **2 to 4 metres**. The chamfered and lowered end pieces are also available in the same lengths. In addition to a normal **wooden crash barrier** it is possible to mount a **railing** onto the construction. This addition serves, for example, to **extend the safety of** the footpaths at the edge of the road and to **improve the protection** of pedestrians.
