# Central reservation guard “Gate-Guard”

	
**Gate-Guard** is a **mobile** restraint system for the **flexible management** of traffic on motorways with integrated emergency opening.

Thanks to the **modular adaptable** Gate-Guard for **construction and maintenance work** as well as for **traffic accidents**, central reservations can now be opened at an angle of **up to approx. 60°**. The **minimum construction length is only 48m**.

**Opening** the steel Gate-Guard can be performed by two persons **in less than 15 minutes**, completely **without the need for special tools**. The locking elements are pushed onto the construction. The rollers are extended by means of **manually operated spindles**. This technology saves a **tremendous amount of time**. Within a very short time, a **full closure** of the motorway can be avoided by directing the **traffic flow to the oncoming lane**. In case of accidents, helpers reach the site more quickly. The structural components of the Gate-Guard remain secured **in** **any possible position**.

As **Gate-Guard is based on the [Vario-Guard system](/our-services/road-security/vario-guard/)**, **connection** to other restraint systems is possible without any problems. The **collision test TB 11 and TB 51** were passed successfully.
