# Crash cushions

	
## in accordance with EN1317-3 

**Crash cushions** are designed in such a way that **any possible crashes** by vehicles at **obstacles or hazard points** can be alleviated. They **reduce the risk of damage to persons** enormously.

The sides of the crash cushions consist of [**crash barriers**](/our-services/road-security/)**,** and the inside of interconnected **deformation compartments**. These chambers have **deformation elements**, which **absorb the energy from the impact**. This energy is longitudinally controlled by a **floor rail**.

The crash cushion can be selected depending on **topographical requirements**, the signposted maximum speed and the necessary **level of safety**. All crash cushions can be **combined with adjacent constructions with numerous vehicle restraint systems** or used as free-standing elements. The **assembly** of a crash cushion takes place **quickly using prefabricated foundation plates**.

- Speed classes 80 km/h and 110 km/h (also 50, 80 and 100 km/h)
